Baritone section member
I joined the Red Rosettes in 2012 following a persuasive chat with a family friend, the lovely Mary Sheryn. I had experienced a nasty event earlier that year and was trying to build up my confidence again, I really loved music so I thought, why not! To say I never looked back would be an understatement. I joined in the September so the chorus were preparing for the big competition which meant I could watch and learn for the initial few weeks. I just couldn’t imagine how I’d ever be able to do what I saw them all do….on a stage….in front of an audience!! But one year on and I was competing with them in Ireland. Since then the experiences I’ve had and skills I’ve learned I’ll have for the rest of my life. Within chorus I’ve been an assistant section lead, Vice Chair and then Chairperson, all of which have had challenges to face but with the chorus around, that support network, there’s nothing we can’t overcome. I can honestly say the Red Rosettes are like a second family, there is always someone there to pick you up, give you a hug or tell you to shush when needs be. My life changed for the better and who knows, yours could too!! If you love music, singing and having fun, get in touch. You won’t regret it.
