I first saw the Red Rosettes performing during ‘Chorley Live’ a couple of years ago, but it was some months later before I got around to getting in touch. I was invited to a free 4 week ‘learn to sing’ course, with the offer of being able to perform as a member of the chorus in the Christmas Concert they were holding. I turned up for the first evening, and immediately loved it.

I must admit, I had no idea that the Red Rosettes were a barbershop chorus – I didn’t even know such a thing existed …and I’m sorry it took so long for me to discover it! I’ve learned so much about barbershop since then – but when you’ve found something you love being part of, it makes you want to know more. I feel really lucky to be part of such a fantastic group of women – it really does feel like I’ve ‘found my people’!

I can honestly say that being part of the Red Rosettes has improved my confidence – I’ve had so many opportunities to sing in public at various events and in October, in competition at the annual LABBS Convention in Llandudno. I’ve even had a go at singing in quartet…which isn’t something I thought I’d ever be brave enough to do!

I’ve been in the Red Rosettes since 2018 and I genuinely can’t remember what I did before I joined!
