Posted December 19 2009 - Christmas in Harmony proved a major success with virtually a full house.

Posted November 24 2009 - Choruses bring Christmas in Harmony to Lytham.
Forget the three tenors. Three top Lancashire choruses are coming together to make Christmas extra special when they take over the Lowther Pavilion at Lytham St. Annes on Friday, December 4 2009.
The evening, called Christmas in Harmony, brings together the award winning ladies Red Rosettes group and the men’s Red Rose Chorus. Joining them is the Bispham High School Gospel Choir.
Preston Male Harmony Singers also known 'The Red Rose Chorus' were formed in 1974. The chorus sings “a-cappella” in close harmonies and have a varied repertoire, competing annually at the British Association of Barbershop convention, and other music festivals. The Red Rose Chorus have performed at many events including weddings, charity events and fetes throughout the region.
The Red Rosettes has been established for more than 25 years and boasts a current membership of around 55 ladies.  The chorus performs at many venues around the region and participates in annual chorus competitions through LABBS (Ladies Association of British Barbershop Singers).
Their repertoire includes many well-known, established and new songs, popular with all audiences. Earlier this year the Rosettes top the top award in the barbershop section at the prestigious Southport Music Festival with the Red Rose Chorus picking up the reserve ticket.
Making up the trio is Bispham High School Gospel Choir which has around 50 members aged 11 - 16 years and has been under the direction of Margaret Adereti (Conductor) for nine years, Neill Oldham (Piano) and Sarah Bagot (Vocal Support) for four years.

The choir sing regularly at many venues across the Fylde Coast and Northwest, and in 2005 and 2007 were awarded the first prize - Robinson Rose Bowl at Blackpool Music Festival for best choir and the G.O Marshall Cup for best conductor. The choir have an expansive repertoire ranging from upbeat Gospel numbers to traditional folk songs from around the world.

The concert, Christmas in Harmony, is being held at the Lowther Pavilion, Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire on Friday, December 4 2009. Tickets are £7.50 and the box office is on 01253 658666.

Posted October 29 2009 - Hitting the high notes at Southport contest.

Hitting the high notes to become the top Barbershop Chorus at the prestigious Southport Music Festival was the Preston based Red Rosettes ladies’ choir.
They impressed the judges with a three song programme of ‘The Rose’, ‘Stars Fell on Alabama’ finishing with a medley based on ‘I can’t give you anything’.
Adjudicator’s comments on their performances included ‘presentation was slick’ for the first song, ‘a good change of mood’ for the second, and ‘the colour of the sound rich and full’ on the third.
Making their win especially sweet was the display of girl power beating the Red Rose men’s chorus into second place.
Although Preston based, the choir draws its members from over a wide area including Lancaster and Morecambe.
The win is the latest in a long line of awards won by the Red Rosettes.

Posted October 12 2009 - meet the calendar girls!!

Calendar girls

Why not have a date with the Red Rosettes all year round? The gang have been busy posing for a range of pictures to fill a spot on your wall witgh their 2010 calendar.

Being musically inclined they are more likely to be seen performing the Neil Sedaka song Calendar Girl than following the example of Rylestone WI and taking their clothes off - after all it does get a bit nippy in October!
